About Me:

My name is Dacia and I am the Rae in Rae-Anne.  I live in a small town near the Alabama border with my son, my dad and Nubi Doo aka Doozie. My dad needed help after his health went downhill and since I am in college I was the logical choice to help. It is a win win situation since I can go to college without having to work and my dad gets help around the home.

My son is 24 years old and has been living with us for almost 3 years. Have not had him living with me since he was 14 and his dad and I divorced. It has been wonderful and he has grown into a wonderful man who is everything a mom could want. He is also going to college for game designing and the business side of game designing.

Nubi Doo is my sweet little Chihuahua that my son found outside freezing in the cold. She has had my heart since I laid eyes on her. She was abused and is terrified of being hurt again. Even the vet was so mad when she saw the bruises on her and that her hip was swollen from being kicked by a heavy boot. So strangers scare her and make her defensive but we are working on this so in time she will be able to feel secure.

Jessica and I met way back when Myspace was the only social media and the internet was young! We both met through mutual friends on Myspace and a we have been like sisters since we met. We both have similar interests plus we both love cooking and baking. The blog grew out of our wish to share what we love with everyone else!

One of my favorite memories is of my Mimi (grandmother) and I baking gingerbread when I was three years old. My parents also encouraged me in the kitchen telling me what is the worst that can happen… we just throw it away!

Besides cooking, collecting old cookbooks and eating I love to read mysteries especially food related mysteries. I also play The Sims 4, Pokemon games, lately I have been playing Pokemon Go as well as Oblivion. Plus my son, Jessica and I are in collaboration to make a pc game. I also love watching hockey, football (to Americans soccer) as well as curling and downhill skiing.

When I need a break from college I can be found knitting and crocheting as well as making other things for the home. I will put up some of my favorite patterns that I have adapted for my own style.
