Blueberry Simple Syrup Lemonade

Blueberry Simple Syrup Lemonade

Ingredients for blueberry simple syrup:
1 cup sugar (200g)
1 cup water (250ml)
1 cup fresh blueberries (148g)

Directions for simple syrup:
1.       Add the sugar, water, and blueberries in a sauce pot and start it out on high.
2.       Let it boil for about 2 minutes or until the water turns a purple color.
3.       Bring the temperature down to a simmer and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
4.       Take it off the heat and let it stand for 10 minutes.
5.       Use a wire mesh strainer and strain the simple syrup into a glass bottle. *
6.       Put into the fridge to cool down.

*I strained my syrup first into a two cup glass liquid measuring cup, that had a bowl underneath to catch any run off from pouring. I then poured it into a glass bottle. This way was so that I didn’t make a complete mess.

Ingredients for lemonade:
1 cup sugar (200g)
1 cup water (250ml)
1 cup fresh lemon juice (250ml)
6 cups water (1500ml)
Blueberry simple syrup

Directions for lemonade:
1.       Add the sugar, water, and lemon juice into a sauce pot.
2.       Let it boil a tiny bit, just enough to make sure the sugar dissolves.
3.       Take it off the heat, let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
4.       Pour into pitcher.
5.       Add as much water as you want to the pitcher, this way the lemonade is to how you like it.
6.       After the simple syrup has cooled add it to the pitcher of lemonade.

Get a glass, fill it with as much ice as you like, and pour yourself a glass of Blueberry Simple Syrup Lemonade. Sit back and relax while enjoying the lemonade on a hot day.
